Icicle lights have two dimensions. The headline often gives you only one.
A ten-metre horizontal run does not describe how far the drops hang. Socket distance, cable colour, connection limits and the shape of each drop can matter more than another hundred LEDs.

Measure width and drop separately
Measure the horizontal fascia, porch or window edge you want to cover. Then measure the clear hanging space underneath it. The drop must allow normal opening and access, and avoid obstacles or moving parts.
Quntis’s selected variant is 5m wide with about 0.6m drop. Christow uses five 30cm and five 20cm acrylic icicles over 3m. The exact drop depths of Ollny, NETTA and Dalugo are not confirmed; ask before relying on a close clearance.
LED count is not the whole hanging pattern
Ollny’s 66 drops and Dalugo’s 48 strands describe the distribution along the roofline, while Christow’s ten large acrylic shapes create a different effect entirely.
Even two sets with similar LED counts can have different strand spacing, drop lengths and cable visibility. Use the product diagram for the selected variant; do not assume every hanging strand has the same depth.
Lead cable and socket position
Mark the position of the first illuminated drop, then trace a practical route to power. The 10m leads on NETTA and Dalugo differ meaningfully from Ollny’s 3m and Christow’s roughly 50cm battery lead.
Keep the adapter or box where its instructions allow and where switching remains practical. Quntis’s lead and UK adapter configuration remain unresolved. Its US-plug page is not evidence of a ready-to-use UK kit.
Can you connect sets?
Ollny permits up to three compatible matching sets. That does not make other brands, lengths or connectors interchangeable. NETTA, Dalugo, Quntis and Christow have no verified matching-set connection limit here.
Follow the exact manufacturer limit, connection method and power arrangement. Buying a longer ready-made set and joining separate sets are different installation choices. Do not modify the transformer or wiring to extend the display.
Warm white, cool white or colour?
Warm white gives a softer-looking seasonal outline. Cool white can give the icicle shape a crisp, icy appearance. RGBIC adds custom colours and movement alongside app setup.
Choose how the house should look. There is no universal colour winner, and neighbouring window or tree lights may influence which combination feels coherent.
Plan the fixing points before installation
Check cable routes and suitable mounting accessories for the edge you are decorating. Use fixings compatible with the product and surface, support the run as instructed and avoid pinching, puncturing or sharply bending cable.
Do not let the power connection carry the hanging load. Installation height and access can change the practical choice; follow the product instructions and use appropriate help for work at height.
Outdoor lights still need a suitable power connection
The string, controller and adapter may have different ratings. NETTA’s IP44 adapter and Christow’s IP44 battery box do not establish identical protection for every part.
