Under-cabinet task light or decorative glow?
Task lighting should reach the worktop where you prepare food. Plinth, above-cabinet and display-shelf accents are mostly about appearance. A bright published lumen figure does not tell you how much light reaches a particular surface.
Compare the layout, shadowing and dimming range as well as output. We do not use the unknown PAUTIX, WOBANE or Govee lumen figures to invent a brightness ranking.
COB and visible LED dots
COB packs sources closely to create a more continuous-looking line. A glossy worktop or splashback can make individual dots from a conventional strip particularly visible.
If the worktop reflects every LED, the effect may resemble a runway more than the lighting you intended. COB, appropriate positioning and compatible profiles can change that appearance, but none guarantees a reflection-free installation.
3000K, 4000K or tunable white?
3000K looks warmer; 4000K is more neutral. Tunable white lets you change the appearance between worktop use and evening ambience. There is no correct temperature for every kitchen.
Lepro warm white is fixed 3000K; the current WOBANE choice is 4000K. PAUTIX’s 3000K title and 2700K package text disagree. Lepro tunable endpoints are unconfirmed here; Govee documents 1000–10000K, which does not establish equal task output at every setting.
Colour rendering matters around food and materials
CRI describes how faithfully colours appear compared with a reference light. Better colour rendering can make food, worktops and materials look more natural; it is separate from colour temperature and brightness.
PAUTIX states CRI 93+. The other exact records do not have established comparable values here, including the current WOBANE ASIN. We do not transfer an older kit’s CRI or a different Govee Pro model’s figures.
Where will the power supply and controls go?
Plan the socket, adapter and controller position, their clearances and the cable route through cabinet gaps. Keep access for adjustment and maintenance. Do not hide a supply in a place that violates its ventilation or location instructions.

One long reel or several short sections?
Separate cabinets, an extractor gap and a corner can break up a run. WOBANE’s four 50cm sections address that layout directly; check connector lengths and contents for the current kit.
A cuttable reel is another option only if its connection system supports the resulting layout. Govee COB Strip Light 2 can be trimmed at 10cm markings, but its cut pieces cannot be reconnected or extended. PAUTIX requires suitable parts and exact instructions.
Cutting and corners need a plan
Do not sharply fold a strip around a ninety-degree corner unless the manufacturer explicitly permits that route. Use approved connectors or an allowed bend/routing arrangement, keeping the strip within its specified limits.
Disconnect power before any permitted cut and use only the marked points. A cut off piece does not automatically become a second usable light. Exact PAUTIX 50mm cut spacing and 8mm connectors are not assumed from range guidance.
Steam, water and the mounting surface
Kitchen use does not make every indoor strip suitable beside a sink or hob. Follow the manufacturer’s location, heat, moisture and component-rating instructions. Lepro warm white is treated as indoor despite conflicting metadata; Lepro tunable is not water resistant.
Grease, dust and moisture affect adhesive. Prepare a clean, dry surface as instructed, use compatible supports where required and keep controls within their environmental limits. A kitchen installation must remain practical to clean.
